Bats are not blind

Yep but it is a VERY common myth.
Larger bats can see 3 times better than humans in fact.

However going back to Peter Parker & Spiderman:
Spiders mate quick and dirty," Dr. Scharf observes. "The cost of taking the time to identify the gender of mates or the cost of hesitation appears to be greater than the cost of making some mistakes."

So spiders arent gay, they are just quick.
This can add sn additional plot twist to Peter Parker being a blind gay man.
