The year of 2024 is upon us and 2023 was fukkery overloaded from IMPACT making an impact, Tony Khan gone off the zoot, and Phil living his best Rick Rude life. What do yall expect from 2024?

Here's my predictions:

  • NJPW will finally prosper with a huge signing, deal, and a show that will blow the entire wrestling world to smithereens
  • My beloved DDT will sadly not have a good year (mass exodus incoming including a well known Ace)
  • There will be four wrestler deaths that will have TSC brehs going
  • AEW will get a unique deal that will make folks forget about WBD as WBD....will ceast to exists (getting swallowed by a huge company)
  • There will be another "Me Too" but involving wrestlers and promotors that we least expect of such fukkery (including a certain GOAT)
  • A well known WWE wrestler will announce his retirement (they deserve it)
  • There will be an indie company that will get a huge bag to go on a streaming platform
  • A well known promotion will finally shut their doors adter many years of trying

1) Lot more people switching companies. All those 5 year contracts that WWE panic offered people when AEW was formed are due to expire in 2024 (if they haven't already reupped or been released)
2) AEW (and ROH) get their streaming deal and WBD actually gets their shyt together to stream All In
3) Snowman becomes a silent investor in NJPW's parent company ala Vince propping up ECW
4) Swerve holds the AEW title for most of the year
5) Cody is going to finish the story...after Reigns breaks Hogan's record for time holding the belt in September

  1. Swerve Strickland wins the AEW title
  2. Roman Reigns is dethroned after he surpasses Hogan’s title reign length. And it won’t be Cody who does it.
  3. MJF will be announced as having re-signed with AEW, and it’s revealed that contract was signed back in 2022
  4. The big name that leaves WWE for AEW will be Kevin Owens - he announced in December 2022 he has two years left on his contract. Don’t know if he’ll have any time added on to that.
  5. The big names that leave AEW for WWE will be Ricky Starks and Andrade
  6. AEW sees a significant decrease in roster size as AEW elects not to re-sign a bunch of people as TK tells the ungrateful talent routinely bytching they can figure out how to go get paid big bucks elsewhere, and almost all of them will be worse off financially because WWE won’t sign most of them to the main roster.
  7. Stardom suffers a big talent raid that significantly depletes the top end of their roster as frustrations grow over the very heavy schedule that’s leading to an injury plague and lack of opportunities to work internationally and with other promotions. This finally forces Stardom to get with the program in significantly altering the schedule and working heavily with other promotions outside of Japan, either thru direct partnerships or allowing talent to do more on their own.
  8. Okada re-signs with New Japan but the new UJPW partnership will see him work significantly more in non-NJPW promotions and he will win the top title in one of those other companies.
  9. IMPACT signs a significant free agent away from WWE. Because somehow they have enough money to throw seven figures at someone.
  10. The TNA rebrand ends up being a financial flop. I’m basing this on ticket sales for the TNA shows being horrible thus far and they will never grow as long as they are on AXS
  11. WBD signs AEW to a new deal and gets on Max but PPVs don’t become PLEs. The revenue generated from PPVs costs more than what WBD is going to want to handover due to the likelihood that they will not be able to sell enough new subscriptions for it to make financial sense (need like 3 new 1-month subscriptions to cover the cost of one PPV buy). Instead they will negotiate to air them for $10-20 per PPV with a Max subscription.
  12. As someone else mentioned - a wrestling company will sign a streaming deal. And that will be OVW. Hot off the heels of their reality TV show on Netflix that was an overnight success and their securing their huge new financing partner, they will get a one-year, two-hour weekly wrestling show with quarterly PLEs that is a blend between the reality show and traditional wrestling product. And it will become an overnight sensation. It will become the third most watched weekly wrestling product being surpassed only by Raw and Smackdown - Netflix is in well over 3x the number of households as any cable network is. After just three months, it will be renewed for several more seasons along with the reality show at an extremely significant increase.
  13. WWE Raw goes to FX but falls short of the $400 million they are allegedly looking for, once again sending the TKO stock in free fall that still continues to decrease after Smackdown did not get as much money as projected. It still gets a big increase, just not $400 million, so Wall Street, like usual, will needlessly panic sell even though WWE will be continuing to thrive more than it ever has financially.
  14. Silver Lake, the private equity firm behind Endeavor, fast tracks taking Endeavor back to private after the stock price collapses after the Raw deal disappoints.
  15. WWE formally announces plans to open NXT Europe and NXT Mexico, each with a PC. Which is different than what NXT UK was like because they didn’t have a PC
  16. Speaking of Mexico, AEW will announce their first Mexico PPV at famed Arena México. Possibly as a co-branded show with CMLL. They will also announce their first Japan PPV in Japan, a co-branded show with NJPW at the Tokyo Dome. Both shows will take place in 2025.

Too much of that.
Nana's/Antonio Brown's dance is already being gentrified, and it will be completely gentrified by the end of January. By March, those of us in the Black Delegation will be tired of seeing all of the flavorless, rhythmless knockoffs of the dance.
