One thing I think I learned about black men is the fact they don't like working for the man. If that's the case they need to learn skills. They need to start putting the same energy that they put into running dope rings, creating baby mommas, and fighting each other into establishing their own. This is a case of redirecting energy ! These numbers are staggering, but I doubt it's due to lack of jobs 100%. It due to the lack of jobs they want. You don't want to go to college, or school period for that matter but you don't want to work at wal-mart, or the local grocery store making 2 dollars. They lack patience, direction, but not skill imo. If you can run a block, you can put forth a little more effort and run a company. If you want fast money you need a skill or a trade,auto mechanic, barber etc etc....stop thinking the only way is selling dope, and robbing. Use that same blueprint to be productive having your own ! Patience is the next biggest thing. Making sacrifices is the next. Pass on the Jordans sometimes, and do something to uplift yourself and community !

I've realized every ethnic group in America seems to look out for each other when it comes to jobs.

Except us...we pretty much have no safety net whatsoever. Unemployment amongst black men is some really really terrible sh!t. But what does it really speak for? The fact that we are somehow "lesser than" for some reason...or the fact that we are there collectively because of decades of people pulling the rug from under us?

If we had our own businesses to hire our own people in our communities, this wouldn't be an issue.
The lack of opportunity creates more disparity and destroys any chance for stability.

I really don't see this as a huge issue. They are talking about teenagers, most who are in high school (or at least should be). A large percentage of teenagers, when not doing schoolwork, just want to hang with their friends, hookup with the opposite sex, and drink or smoke a little. I don't really blame them They will have the next 40 years to worry about working.
