Chris Hansen adds $75 million to Kings offer | KING5.com Seattle

SEATTLE - Chris Hansen just raised the stakes in the effort to bring the Sacramento Kings to Seattle.

Seattle's lead investor told the NBA Friday he will raise his bid on the Kings franchise to $625 million, an increase of $75 million on his previous bid. Hansen had already raised the valuation of his bid to $550 million in an attempt to sway NBA owners.

He is attempting to purchase 65 percent of the franchise from the Maloof family. Hansen's group had already placed $357 million in escrow for the majority share. This is the third time his group has raised his bid.

Unless they go on a drafting spree like the thunder did with Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka and Harden nothing will change in Seattle and the team will still be irrelevant :scusthov:

It will surprise me if owners dont accept this deal. Owners are known to be greedy : "They let Bob Johnson own a team for a 300 million dollar check" :yeshrug:

Damn, $625 million for the Kings, imagine if the Knicks or Lakers were up for sale :merchant:
yo FORREAL!

Tom Benson bought the Hornets for almost half at $338MM just last year.

This is a dream come true for the other franchises like the Dodgers purchase was last year in baseball.

Amazing that a town like Seattle that likes the nba will get shut out when so many cities in the nba that have teams could give a sh!t about the nba

Indiana Charlotte Minesotta Milauawakee and New Orleans wouldnt blink if their teams didnt exist tomorrow

you also gotta deal with the other owners though. the article says the committee voted to deny the move of the franchise out of Sacramento, but a new vote is gonna happen next Wednesday, the 15th.

you'd think they'd reconsider now...come on now.

it was 7 owners who recommended for the committee to deny the move... official vote is next week.

This would drive the price up for owners so they wouldnt mind it,its Stern hes the reaosn its not happening he didnt want another team to move under his watch its why he kept delaying the vote until the Kings got everyhting in order, the owners were told what to vote

and it's not like there's a ton of cities that want teams, which is why the C word should always be considered.
