You cannot tell me bruh is not a lyricist by anybodies standard.

"Who can tell ya some shyt that ya mother a see, like you being locked up til 2003,
when u posed to be outchea flickin and ballin like me....
and all i see is eyes on me, so like pac, I hope its not another fukking robbery.......

I'm not a huge fan and never have copped any of his work, but from what I've heard Boosie be spitting that real.

His voice annoys the f**k out of me, so I can't get into it.

I personally define lyricism as complexity saying what you say but you have fancy way of getting it across in a way that many others cannot.

Some lyricists are punchline heavy in terms of metaphors similes (Cassidy, Jadakiss) Some have very complex multisyllabic compond rhyming (Eminem, R.a the Ruggedman, Papoose), Some with Double double entendre's (MF Doom, Elzhi) Some are so clever with metaphors that they can make references to multiple things within 4 lines that were originally describing one thing. And sometimes It all of this at the same time this is what make lyrical cats so special :Mightymos:

Alot of lyricists Use big words along side all of this but but I don't think Big Words alone makes anyone lyrical specially when there not using them correctly :lolbron: And Some people attempt to rap fast to trick you into thinking there more lyrical then they are but thats another story :yeshrug:

it impresses me and surprises me it catches me off guard. cause while your vibing you hear a rapper say something and you don't think about it at first but then when you finally get you be like Dang Bruh :ohhh:

Or when you hear a cat spit like not to many people can you be like Dang Bruuuh :ohhh:

when you combine complexity with a nice subject & a nice melody its the best thing ever :ahh:

Unfortunately though alot of lyrical cats tend to forsake other parts of there music like the flow, the delivery, the chorus and the beat :aicmon: and sometimes even the topic :ld:But when done right its beautiful :obama:

Imagery and wordplay are needed. Lyricists are able to tell a story and stay on topic throughout the verses. In most cases, it'll be coherent and each line/word is placed there for a reason.

Idk if there's anything definite because wayne, in my eyes, is lyrical because he seemingly understands literary techniques and songwriting. something like me and my drank. It's a 6 minute extended metaphor about lean. or I feel like dying which is a surreal song about drug addiction.

The lyrics aren't dense or anything but when listening to the song, they're perfectly placed and it works. Which is why songwriting skills are essential.

it's care for the words on the page rather than the sound of the instrumental.

being lyrical doesn't matter if a person hasn't crafted songwriting in general, though.
