They’ve always been 4 doors though 
They’re entry level COMPACT luxury sport sedans. If you want something with more room you step up to a 4 or 5 series.

Some people have kids you know, have you tried to put a car seat in that small azz coupe. The 4 door sedan sells way more than coupe so I don't know why you think that the coupes are the majority.
