seems like every month they ask for some kind of donations. are they that much hurting for money. it's disgusting now just visiting the website, but whenever you search something on google, almost the first hit is form a wiki site.

Why don't they have ad's? They'd have so much moneythey dont have ads on their website. how many sites you know can actually say that. wikipedia
No ads and one of the most visited sites in the world and there free
i think its just once a year they do a drive to raise money to keep the site ad free. i'm probably gonna donate just to get rid of the begging.
