STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Raekwon The Chef? More like Raekwon the weed entrepreneur.

The 53-year-old rapper — born Corey Woods — and founding member of legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan has grown his presence in the weed industry over the years, including opening a string of dispensary-lounges. He’s expected to open another one next month in nearby Newark, New Jersey’s Four Corners Historic District, according to Advance/SILive.com sister site NJ.com.

Hashstoria, which was co-founded by the Staten Islander, features several brands with premium ingredients, including his personal, curated brand Compliments of the Chef and rapper Big Boi’s Daddy Fat Packs.

“Weed fueled my music and creativity from the beginning,” the rapper told Forbes early last fall. “Being able to share that, to fuel others’ dreams, is the reason for Compliments of the Chef.”

In addition to the existing Hashstoria dispensaries in Oregon, where the company is based, Raekwon’s weed also has a presence in Michigan thanks to a partnership with former NBA player Chris Webber’s luxury brand Players Only, as reported by Forbes.

It remains to be seen whether Raekwon — who also started a wine brand called Licataa and released a memoir, which he spoke to the Advance/SILive.com about — will eventually join New York state’s burgeoning weed industry by opening a dispensary in his hometown borough.

Weed not your thing, but still want a Wu-Tang fix? Consider checking out RZA’s kung fu-inspired bar at Staten Island’s Alamo Drafthouse, orcatching the third and final season of Hulu’s “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” which follows the story of the group’s origins and ensuing worldwide success.
