The Wu have been in Australia the past few days and they've actually recorded music together:

WU-TANG CLAN RECORD NEW MUSIC IN 10-HOUR AUSSIE STUDIO SESSION
Share0 Written by Tom Williams on February 23, 2016
Currently down under for their 2016 Australian tour, hip hop legends Wu-Tang Clan have graced Melbourne’s Ginger Studios with their presence for a huge 10-hour session, where they recorded the beginnings of a handful of new tracks.

As FasterLouder reports, Wu-Tang members RZA, GZA, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Master Killa and producer DJ Mathematics hit up the Cremorne studio yesterday, after contacting chief engineer Jimi Wyatt in search of something that has “quality, reliability, privacy and loud!”.

Wyatt says Wu-Tang’s time in the studio was “primarily a writing session”, which kicked off at 4pm and finished up in the early morning. “It wasn’t a party per se, with the session only being open to their crew as they’re serious artists that want to work,” he says.

Wyatt says he and RZA recorded parts of four new songs during Wu-Tang’s session, with other group members throwing their own verses onto the tracks later in the night.

“Raekwon was the first to drop a verse in the control room and he totally tore it up, it was more of a performance with a couple of punch-ins to try different ideas,” Wyatt says.

“Then Ghostface Killah got in the booth and put down verses for two other tracks, he preferred to do his thing in there rather than in the control room. GZA wrote a lot, [while] DJ Mathematics and Master Killa were in to keep the vibe up.

“They play the beat ridiculously loud while everyone vibes off the track to get into a space where they can write a verse. It feels like a gig where they can try new things lyrically and create.”

Wu-Tang Clan’s released their latest album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, as a single vinyl copy in 2015, but it looks like their next release just might include some locally recorded tunes.

Wu-Tang kick off their Australian tour in Melbourne tonight, before heading to Sydney and Brisbane. Catch all of their local tour dates below, and the tour’s confirmed Wu-Tang lineup right here.

Local MC Ivan Ooze, who is supported Wu-Tang’s current Aussie tour, has also shared a photo (below) of him and his DJ with Ghostface Killah, saying, “Cookin’ dat new new up in the kitchen today with the legendary Ghostface Killah. y’all ain’t ready.”

They even stopped by one of the local radio stations and had some fun with an off the dome session:

And they recorded new music together a few months back last time they were in Europe. Sounds like we may be hearing some group material soon.

Good to see RZA and Ghost having fun and chilling after all the bullsh!t that surrounded the A Better Tomorrow album and the whole Once Upon A Time In Shaolin and Martin Shkreli mess.

Wu-tang = GOAT Hip Hop group.

Too bad the brehs @Inspect Her Deck and @Method Man weren't there though :mjcry:
U-god too :pachaha:

Yea. Meth did say months back that he wouldn't be at these Australia shows because of prior made commitments. But it's good to see Rae and Ghost were in on the session because they've shown in the past to be the most resistant to making new group music with RZA. Deck, Meth and Uey ALWAYS seem open to be a part of new Clan music so you know that they could jump on any new music that was recorded later on.

Interesting that they got Mathematics there, presumably, producing. :jbhmm:
Maybe RZA is gonna let the next album be helmed by someone else :jbhmm:

If he does. I'd prefer it not be Math. I love Math but I haven't really been a big fan of his recent work. I'd prefer 4th or Bronze Naz. And if it's done by someone outside of the immediate Clan family I'd like Alchemist or even the homie Hav.

I'm an original Wu-Stan from 94 (although I don't listen to them as heavily as I did before) and I thought A Better Tomorrow was ass ... and I think 8 Diagrams was pretty underrated

Tell me what you liked about the album, I'm thinking about revisiting it (I only listened to it twice) :ld:

Despite RZA continuing to roam from that dark Wu-tang sound most Wu fans want, alot of the live instrumentation stuff on the album sounds really nice. Ruckus in the B Minor was an excellent reintroduction of the Clan as a whole. I agree there were some terribly cheesy parts (the hook on Preacher's daughter and the sh!t RZA did to 4th Disciple's EXCELLENT Miracle beat) but not enough to say it hurt the album badly. And all of the Clan came with quality verses, including Rae...after he made a whole big stink about the project.

I felt like the second half of the album was much stronger than the first half. Minus Preachers Daughter :scust:, Miracle on through Wu Tang Reunion were all :wow:to me. Yeah, some of the sample choices were obvious, yeah the live instrumentation is never gonna reach the Olympian heights that sampling can reach :yeshrug:
Still, I enjoyed every last one of those songs.
As for the first half? Ruckus in B Minor was crazy, outside of the hook I really like Keep Watch and Crushed Egos was :wow:
Solid album :yeshrug:
Nothing to write home about. Doesn't further cement or tarnish the Wu legacy :yeshrug:
