The average cable bill I read somewhere is like $120 a month that's $1440 a year

@ $10 per monthh (which IMO is high but Justified for premium content like old footage and ppv) but at that price you could get 12 channel a la carte.

The sweet spot I think is $5-$8 per month, unlimited access on all your devices

which includes a sh!tload of channels/on-dmenand, internet and phone service it ain't just TV fool.... :birdman:

with that said the prices do need to be under 100 a month though...

I think within 20 years, the Netflix model will become the norm for television shows. Just because a ton of television is ads all over the place, including sports especially. UFC could do the same, and maybe with Boxing although they have their bed with HBO/Showtime. With that being said though, while the television is dying there will still be a need for cable in terms of internet access to enable them to be watched. I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled out a "Streaming Data Charge" like with the Cellphones because they will be looking to reclaim the lost money for losing key PPV's. To make it worse, they might put a block if you don't pay up cause ESPN doesn't allow some cable companies to watch ESPN3/Online.

Wherever whores go.....
What the industry needs is competition which is where its heading right now.
Cable companies losing money can continue to lose money or embrace streaming on multiple devices and lower overall revenue

Its going to be even worse if every company decides to go on thier own.
Imagine have to pay $50 for like 10 channels :heh:
Netflix and Hulu and only lose content when stuff like this happens
Why would content providers give netflix and hulu thier shows when they can hold onto it an charge montly.

Nope, my post-contract DirecTV bill is around $105, and that's just the TV service with HD and no premiums

A $60 guarantee(every 6 months) for them is better than hoping fans buy a PPV.

They probably have stats on how many PPV's per year the average fan(that orders ppv) buys. And if it's between 2-3, then $120 per year works out to be roughly the same thing. Also, you can get new revenue from the entire crowd of ppl who NEVER order PPV's, like myself.

Also, whatever amount WWE has to split with cable companies to put on PPV's, now they can keep it 100% to themselves.

Because I only watch a handful of channels. :manny:

The only thing that stops me from throwing cable companies in the bushes is sports and they know it... that's why the NFL is making billions and billions of dollars off these TV deals.

for me it's mostly NBA. cuz NFL games are available on the local channels except for monday night and the thursday night game.
