It was such a weird time in wrestling. It was post-Invasion, but pre-OG Brand Extension, so they were gradually having WCW/ECW guys pop up with gimmick changes, with an overall flooded roster, but there wasn’t really any direction yet.

Even then, the caliber of Rock and the Hulkkkster made people forget about the storyline making zero sense. How does Hogan go from attempting to murder the Rock to dapping him up in a two week span?

It was , it just wasn’t believable because they didn’t book them strong at all. I understand they wanted to protect their talent but you can’t put that NWO brand unless you’re gonna book it strong. They should’ve came in and dominated everything so when the WWE guys finally got to beat them it meant something.

That’s a Vince issue.

The whole invasion concept only worked and made sense if WWE loses, byt all Vince wanted to do was straight job them out just to remind everyone WWF was the best. He never was gonna give WCW shine. He wanted to piss on it's legacy.

Can't speak for Scott or Hulk, but I was working hurt until I had the biceps surgery that spring. Between WCW closing and when Vince first called me to inquire about me coming back, I was doing underground street fighting tournaments across the world. I wanted to come in after Mania but Vince had this nWo angle he wanted to run, and with the money being right, it sounded like a good deal. Sucks I had to withdraw from the Bare Knuckle Brawler tournament in Prague to fly to Milwaukee but the WWE fans needed me again.

It’s crazy how nobody realized the WWE fans weren’t going to boo Hogan. This was an easy story line too. Bring back Hulkamania.... Let Hulkamania run wild and right when everybody is like Have Hall and Nash come out the crowd iin street clothes and beat his ass to the stretcher come out. Then just have them keep coming out the crowd putting baby faces in the stretcher as the show fades to black.
