X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn’t open for another few weeks, and its sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, isn’t coming for another two years. Nevertheless, inquiring minds already want to know what Bryan Singer has planned for us in 2016, and the director is more than happy to deliver.

In a new interview, Singer and producer/writer Simon Kinberg revealed some new details about the film, including its relationship to the source material, its connection to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and which other mutants we might see. (Hint: Mystique won’t be the only blue one around these parts anymore). Hit the jump for more info.

Singer and Kinberg opened up in a chat with EW. Specifics about the X-Men: Apocalypse storyline are still scarce, but Singer teased that it would be “somewhat” based on the classic Age of Apocalypse comic book arc from the ’90s. “[The movie] won’t necessarily create an alternate universe, but there may be some swapping things that I’m playing with,” said Singer.

Although X-Men: Apocalypse follows X-Men: Days of Future Past, Singer suggests that the link between the two films won’t be too direct.

You won’t feel at the end of the movie that it set up Apocalypse. What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we’ll discover in Apocalypse is that events in this movie made that happen… Apocalypse deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?

Meanwhile, Kinberg emphasized the grand scale of the film. “From a visual standpoint it actually may be a bigger movie than Days of Future Past because there’ll be disaster movie imagery, like the title would imply,” he said.

What X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: Days of Future Past will have in common are their leads, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult. But we can look forward to seeing some other faces as well, including Gambit and Nightcrawler. “I’m excited because I want to start introducing familiar characters at different ages and also explore the ‘80s,” said Singer.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens May 23, and X-Men: Apocalypse arrives May 27, 2016.

As long as Rogue is pretty much Jubilee in the movies.... fukk her!!! I wanna see a true Rogue who is stronger, can fly, and more of a beast then this fraudulent shyt they had written as Rogue. Plus I'm tired of her simping Wolverine when the Rogue I know was Gambits main squeeze[DOUBLEPOST=1397327904][/DOUBLEPOST]
Much like the Spider-man franchise, it's estimated that it would cost Disney around $2-3 billion. I think Marvel is like "Meh, we're good right now."

2.5 Billion??? Man they could make that back in one year but :damn:

Spider-man's is $3.5-4 which more than what Disney payed to get Marvel in the first place and almost as much as what the rights to Star Wars cost. :mjpls:

Also Sony and Fox aren't gonna sell those properties back to them anyway. They're just keep rebooting the series and that bread for themselves.
