As the windows 8 store grows, so will the Xbox one.

And furthermore this will encourage devs to make more games/apps for windows 8 or Xbox one.

Have you visited the Windows 8 store? It's a struggle app store that isn't making any money. Most PC developers are gonna stick with making regular programs that are compatible with Windows 7/Vista/XP.

I've used it. It's not as big as other app stores but there are plenty of useable apps. This is part of microsofts push to get more support for the windows 8 store. Along with their acquisition of Nokia and their progress in the mobile phone industry. I think it will work. Devs have plenty of incentive in using windows 8 since their games/apps will work on so many devices with minimal time spent on building different versions.

How is them buying Nokia gonna help them in Mobile? There is NO chance of them overtaking iOS & Android. Windows 8 apps don't work on past version of Windows. A lot of PC developers & users have no interest in Windows 8 and are sticking with Windows 7. So there's more incentive for PC developers to making regular programs that are compatible with all versions of windows.

They don't need to overtake ios or android to have good app support from devs. And naturally people will slowly begin to use the new version of windows more, it's been happening for over 30 years now, I don't see that changing anytime soon.
