I used to say no, but once I copped my current place, it's been great having one of my best friends live literally a two minute walk down the street from me. True joy and convenience is being able to get absolutely zooted with your brehs, and realize that flopping in your bed is at most a five minute walk away, if you're on stumble time, and decide to fumble through getting the mail on the way home.

His neighbors would watch his house get robbed. My neighbors would hold the robbers down until the police come.
there's some value to knowing them and at least having their phone number or some shyt goes down, but I honestly do not hang out with them like that or get involved in their lives like that.
my neighbors were starting to get more "communal" during covid because a lot of them have young kids and shyt and they'd be having like little birthday parties and potlucks in their front yards and shyt.. and then one of the couples got divorced and i don't see them outside hanging out no more
anyway tho it depends on where you live. i'm not gonna be cool with my neighbor just to be cool with my neighbor, especially if you got some cac neighbors that might be on some

When I was living with the ex-wife we had 3 Karens as neighbors.
It was a townhouse condo, so a bunch of houses stuck together with a condo admin which were the residents donating their time as volunteers for being admins.
One complained that my window had condensation once, she also complained about me jumping the fence one day to catch the train, she complained about me regarding various stupid things.
Another neighbor will tell you about everybody's business, a real gossipy storyteller
And another one that is so by the book by for the stupidest things

This is timely because we have neighbors (fat cacs, we believe from "Trump Country") who moved in last year. Mind you, they moved to a predominantly black DC neighborhood. The wife and I noticed that, when spoken to, these two don't speak back.
In response, we don't speak/ acknowledge presence/ etc.
Now, they are moving out.
The previous two sets of neighbors were cool and spoke/ kept it cordial.
