I did three and a half years at one point and two years at another.

For the two year, I was just tired of meeting women and fukking too quick. Within two dates I was knocking them down and as soon as I'd bust I'd lose all feelings for the woman. I was really wanting a serious relationship. So decided to avoid having sex longer to see if I could develop feelings on a deeper level. Took about two years before I met a woman that I caught feelings for. It ended bad so went back to hoeing for a couple years.

Then got tired of breaking women's hearts where we'd fukk for a while and the woman would catch feelings and I'd have to break their heart. That shyt was taking a real mental toll from me. Plus my best friend was fighting breast cancer so mentally was in no place to date so just completely took a break. Ended up breaking that a few months ago after that friend passed.

Celibacy to me means “not actively looking for p*ssy” instead of “failing to get p*ssy”

6 months to a year of focusing 100% on yourself instead of trying to sniff a puss, I understand that.

But 6 years of celibacy for a man is clearly not by choice.

You found any solution internally for yourself to stop this cycle?

For me, the celibacy worked by helping me get my mind off sex. It was hard for a couple of months but after a while it stopped being a craver. So then once I started dating again, by knowing I wasn't going to sleep with them it gave me more time to evaluate if they were someone I'd really want to date. That lead to me making better dating choices and eventually found a good relationship even though it didn't work out.
