I read some story recently that the director wanted to go even more gory with certain scenes and the studio dialed it down. They had a bunch of footage they shot and it got destroyed because it was stored in some janky eastern European warehouse. So there's no hope of restoring it or having some sort of director's cut.

I've been quoting "where we're going, we won't need eyes to see" since I saw this movie as a teenager.
Wasn't perfect, but the concept was so good. The 10 seconds of of hellish gore-orgy clips were so quick, but had such a big effect. I don't even like horror, but I fukked with this shyt.
