Just imagine Melo on that Lakers squad heading into the 2011 playoffs. I believe Nene would have been in the deal too. Just imagine the crunch time line-up of Fisher/Kobe/Melo/LO/Pau or with Nene too in there. Kobe's knees was all messed, so Melo would have picked up the scoring slack for the Lakers. Plus we were deep as fukk too. We probably beat the Mav's and go to the finals and win it too.

Melo isnt leaving New York. The fans wouldnt get over it here. And Melo knows he doesnt want NY to hate him. And if he was gonna opt out and go to LA, he would have just stayed on the Nuggets instead of working year round to get the trade done to come specifically to the Knicks. Only way I could see him leave is if there is some kind of disaster that happens in the season. Everything else is just fans of other teams hoping and dreaming. Look at Chris Paul and how many teams fans were sure they were gonna get him. He stayed put. Melo has unfinished business in New York! He wont just bounce.

I was referring to if the Lakers went through with the Melo trade in 2011. Why would Melo leave when the Lakers were still loaded with talent in that 2011 season, Phil probably would have returned too because talent wise, Lakers would still be legit title contenders for years to come. But, would like to have Melo here, but he won't come here with Dumbtoni still coaching. And Lakers had CP3, but "basketball reasons" happened, don't gotta get into that. But, yea I see Melo staying, plus Knicks will have a bunch of cap space in 2015 too.
