my parents wake up at 5:30 everyday and bust their ass until the evening to provide for my sister and me. :umad:

of course i care what they think. they only want the best for us. :camby:

Yea, you're still young tho. If you're seeking approval in adulthood you need to do some soul-searching. Just because you don't seek approval doesn't mean you don't love them. How old are you?

My parents are easily impressed. Disappointment doesn't come around too often in my family.

turning 24 in a month.

they wanted me to be a doctor. I switched majors to applied stats because I'm better with numbers. at first they weren't happy with me spending two extra years in college (top 25 school worldwide) to graduate but saw how in demand the field was and how the courses I'd be taking were project based - can use schoolwork on my resume as real world experience (currently interning in finance dept for a big, public company). so they supported me and paid my tuition in full. have zero student debt and get mad scholarships to use as spending money. don't have to work part time while in school so can focus on getting straight A's. biology is kinda a glorified arts and you don't really learn any skills applicable to the real world aside from working as a lab assistant.

started my first company at 21 through a govt entrepreneurship program for students. parents supported me fully. ended up getting an award for being one of the most successful businesses in the program.

parents match anything I put into my retirement accounts 1 to 1. basically 100% interest on my savings.

and on top of that i got a fat inheritance to look forward to. :umad:
two parent households :umad:
