Philly bouls, Trust the Process
Irving has refused to disclose any thoughts on his upcoming free agency, but Scott doesn’t think the 26-year-old will stay.

“Do I think he will stay a Celtic for the rest of his career? No,” Scott said on NBA TV.

“After what Kyrie showed us leaving Cleveland… I can see him and Danny sitting down and saying ‘Kyrie, what do you want to do?’ [Kyrie will say] ‘What are you doing? Who are you keeping? Is this my team?’

“Or if New York called and said ‘hey we have the same amount of money and this is your team’.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Kyrie left.”
NBA trade news: Kyrie Irving huge claim, Kevin Durant twist, LeBron James Lakers challenge

All speculation at this point, but interesting storyline to keep an eye on for this season. He's been tied to NY for some time, and if him and Jimmy Butler really want to team up that won't be in Boston :jbhmm:

Brooklyn can have close to 70mil in cap space next offseason, in addition to the Knicks they could be major players in trying to lure in Kyrie and bring Butler with him

I don't see why Kyrie would have any sense of loyalty to Boston(especially given Ainge's track record:kyriepls: ) and I don't think he cares how competitive they are because he thinks he can compete somewhere else, he's only been there for a year and look at how he left Cleveland with LeBron.

With Tatum and Brown on the come up as well as Hayward on the squad, they might not be the situation he was looking for as the de-facto leader in the future. Look at all the success they had without him already :boredkyrie:

Remember Boston was not on Kyrie's list of teams he wanted to be traded to, but NY sure was:kyriesabo:

It seems he has an innate fetish for going somewhere that would struggle without him

He also loves NY and Butler, who certainly isn’t coming back. It wouldn’t shock me at all cause most of the guys in Boston have already developed at a level where they’re on the same plane as him in terms of importance (Horford, Taintum, maybe Brown and Smart)

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Brad Stevens is the leader in Boston. If he wants to win, he stays, if he wants to maximize his income, he goes to NY. Honestly, he makes Boston better, but Tatum and Brown are about to take-off, Rozier can run the offense at a high level. He has convinced me that he is the best ball handler of this generation, maybe all time, so he can bring that with him wherever he goes, we would still be a top their team

How would that work money wise? It sounds good on the surface but I legitimately don't see how they get Butler and Kyrie while also keeping Porzingis.

It's weird but he's a weird guy.

Kyrie to New York is a lock just like Paul George to LA was last summer huh? :skip:
Some guys just enjoy going to losing ass teams as long as they're home (*looks at Kawhi*)
