People talk about the lack of dominant centers in the league and we forget that we are missing those first 3 and I will even put Eddy Curry up there cuz he should have been a 20 10 beast too. With injuries and lack of motivation for cats like Curry and Bynum we missed out on a great era for centers. Yao was already a 20 10 player when he started getting hurt. Curry averaged near 20 one year I know and Bynum would have got to that level easily and probably been the best all around big in the league today. But we will never know cause of all these injuries these big men suffer at an early age. Right now Yao should be slowing down with at least one ring to his credit with Greg Oden and Bynum right there on his neck as the next best big in the league. Not to mention cats like Demarcus and Brook and Marc who are legit centers too. I think we missed out on some greatness with some of these cats. But out of them all I would have loved to see how Yao would have continued to progress as the years went on. Cuz he was dominant before he got hurt and the only real guy who could guard him (Shaq) was pretty much through at that point.

carlos boozer took yao's soul
No the fukk he didnt. The strategy for that serious was horrible. JVG and TMac took his soul more than anything. Yao.woudve had his ring if tmac didnt quit the year we had artest.

Tmac yao and artest was a legit big three and then the supporting cast of scola, mutumbo, lowry, prime carl landry, battier, super 6th man von wafer and aaron brooks. It aint no coincidence that squad took that lakers squad to 7 cuz if we had tmac or yao the entire series that series is Houstons. That fraud ass laker squad was healthy and couldnt even handle artest scola an aaron brooks.

I miss yao:mjcry:. Replace howard with yao and were a dynasty

Interesting topic. We were indeed robbed. That Portland squad with Roy, LA, and Oden would be running the west right now. Not sure who Yao would have won that ring with :francis:. Maybe the Sixers would have actually tried to build a squad around Bynum. Can't blame the injuries for the lack of C's though. In the 80's we lost Sampson and Bowie and still had HOFers galore.

t-mac didn't quit. he was hurt that year.

he also played hurt in the 2007 and 2008 playoffs. t-mac put up 28/8/7/2/1 in the 2008 playoffs with a broken back and a one knee!

Bynum never cared enough about basketball to be much better than he was...

Yao was always on borrowed time because of his size

Transform yourself from a chubby fukk to an All Star without caring bruhs :heh:

He cared, the injuries finally took away his passion

The center position isn't truly bad right now either, there just isn't the obvious generational talent at the position that there has been in years past and the game is moving away from inside play anyway.

Forgot to throw Kwame in there too, OP.......
Kwame didnt produce like these players did and i never thought he had the potential to be better then someone like Oden who you could see would be a frachise changing talent. He had all the physical attributes to succeed but he was never productive enough for me to put him at that level as a potential All Star/Hall of Fame caliber of player.
