Yeah I know "Clap for a nikka with his rapping ass" :mjlol: but MCHG isn't bad if you reduce it to 8-9 tracks

Has 3 of my favorite Jay songs the past 15 years

Holy Grail- Justin Timberlake went to space
fukkwitMe- Beat is insane could have fit in perfect on MBDTF or Yeezus
Part2- perfect chick record

I also liked Tom Ford and Heaven. The rest I don't like at all like legit wack records

Replace "Nickels & Dimes" with "Part II". I never liked "Nickels & Dimes", but a lot of people do. To me, that song wreaks "let me throw a 90's sounding song on the album to appease purists" type sound to it much in the way that throwing Justin Timberlake on the first song is there to appease the Pop crowd.

I love a lot of those tracks, the roll out oversold it a bit and left a bad taste in people's mouths but it's actually dope in hindsight. Nickles and dimes is my shyt.

that's been the problem with Jay Z albums since Vol 1. He's always included some garbage ass songs for reasons only he can answer. It's like, he will have all of these dope ass tracks and then says to himself, "I need to put about 3 or 4 garbage ass songs on this album to make it complete.." And absolutely no one around him is telling him the shyt is trash. I seriously can't believe there were a room full of people cosigning "sunshine" and "I know what girls like". But apparently no one pulled him to the side to explain how bad they were.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think any artist purposely puts garbage songs on an album. It may be songs that people generally just don't like, but that's more on the listener than it is the artist. Its only garbage because the listener doesn't like it. The artist may have thought or felt the song was good. How it was received doesn't always align with how they felt about it.

With Jay Z and Nas, they've experimented a lot. The execution isn't always there, but they take risks. Jay is more so on the production side of things. With Nas, its more so conceptually.

Of all the wack Jay albums, I never really got the hate for this one :yeshrug:

It's hated on the Booth for the following reasons:

1) It was a new Jay Z album

2) None of the Booth's favorite producers had tracks on it. Seeing Pharrell, Timbaland, Swizz, and Rick Rubin in that commercial automatically drew hate. The same commercial with Alchemist and Madlib would've been hundreds of pages of praise before one full song leaked.

3) The scavenger hunt for the lyrics before the album dropped. We saw the lyrics before hearing the album and some of them were cringeworthy.

4) Timbaland comparing the album to Blueprint and saying it was better even before the album dropped.

5) The videos especially "Picasso Baby".

6) The songs sound tiny and thin compared to how full and epic they sound in the commercial.

3-6 were perfectly valid reasons for hating this album

The amount of albums this can be said about is astounding lol.

Exactly :mjlol:

If you take any album and cut 50% of the shyt, every album would be damn near classic

Snoop might be the king example of needing 50+% tracks cut from all his bloated album releases
