We damn near wrecked our farm system in the Mark Teixeira trade several yrs ago & missed the playoffs 3 seasons ago.

that's why even though we have the best record right now I still feel we're doing this in spite of frank wren. that trade and his major free agent signings (struggla and bj downton) are HUGE negatives. our farm system (a credit to the scouts and development coaches, never to a GM) is saving us big time.
