Unlike Kanye fans who post reviews from pitchfork, rollingstone, etc. I don't need validation to say that I dislike the album. I just enjoy watching other people's genuine opinion. If they were to drop the review on Cole and dislike it, it wouldn't make a difference on whether I like the album or not. Kanye Stans that used reviews to validate their opinion are the reason reviews don't matter. Watching a review is just like walking up to a random person who listens to that type of music and asking their opinion on that particular album. At the end of the day, it's someone else's opinion

You're just are qualified as any reviewer. They listen to music just like you do, not like they went to college to become "reviewers". Those same people who review music, movies, games are just people who picked up on the idea of "hey, we can start a website or a magazine where we share our opinions and make money off it. There is no special school that qualifies you to do that.

I'm talking about the all-of-a-sudden Death Grips stanning.

Honestly, the album reminds me of Depeche Mode more than anything. People are saying NIN, but its not nearly that harsh sounding. Its borderline poppy in a few places.

no but if you have an idea of the sounds you are listening to, actually are, which you can easily form an opinion if you listen to different genres.

All my life I listen to hip hop and rnb and mostly only contemporary to me. Some very few exceptions

They really are though, what do you know about the people behind those reviews, besides that they work for a well known magazine or website? Honestly do you know if they play any instruments? Do they make music themselves? All you know is that they work for the Source, Rollingstone or whomever they work for. You don't really know much about the person who is actually behind these reviews. Most of them motherfukkers don't even know what Death Grips is, but I do. They're not any more qualified to give their opinion on an album than I am. Just because it's called a review doesn't make it not their opinion, stop holding these people on such high pedestals. They aren't these genius musicians that no one has heard of, they just work for a well known magazine, which is the ONLY reason their opinion makes any type of noise in the hip hop world. It's because you know the magazine, you dont know the person behind it.
