As much as I dig Mustard i dont think anybody can deny his formula is very simple. Its hard to tell his beats apart when you just play the instrumentals. He dominated 2014 but YG can't solely rely on Mustard's shyt. Get that G funk shyt on this and drop another blassic album

dr. dre would be a good look in terms of a "brand" bein' attached to his project but he would take forever to actually get the ball rollin'

Jeezy and DJ Mustard are pretty big themselves and he had the #1 hip hop song in the country for over a month. And plus the album was nice so I thought it would have sold more.

All the latest interviews when they ask him who are sum of the young boys out here he likes he always names Kendrick, Problem and a couple other people but won't talk about Yg unless somebody brings him up.... Then Quik will show love after they bring him up

Only on the coli is YG a competent rapper .
I gave his album a listen and it would have been dope if it wasn't full of struggle verses. Schoolboy q can rap his ass off. He deserved those sales.

i think that's probably only because for so long quik has never really separated the business side of things from where he's from. don't get me wrong, he's done it faaaaaaar better than most but the industry aka whitey can't have shyt that's really hood and quik is a real nikka. you know how "quik" quik is when shyt ain't right to go in on somethin' and "the elite" aka hollywood want a nikka to be politically correct and that's never really been quik. he'll play ball for a minute but at the end of the day, quik gone be quik but i think with time and age now, he's just tryin' to be a lot more mellow and laid back

quik minus drugs, reminds me a lot of rick james (r.i.p.) because like rick james, all he's ever wanted was to get the recognition he deserves without havin' to comprise
and rick james was like that too. rick wanted to keep that shyt real and not have to play simon says games because the industry is full of a lot of bullshyt

he kind of alluded to the fact that he doesn't really get his props is because of who he is and where he from or rather "perception" (as he said) of him in this very interview (quik forever stays true to himself and his people but i think it's always been that juggle of the business and stayin' true to oneself and people for him, much like rick james)
