Yo, if Mr. T was popular today, the black community could really benefit.

Why do Muslims always try and leech everyone else into their perspective? Its something I've noticed a lot of times as you've got the "Well, 2Pac/Michael Jackson/Whatever/Whenever/Whoever when they are dead was a Muslim, you know?" like its some kind of validation of their faith. Always struck me as strange. Why can't your view just stand on its own two with no celebrity scaffolding needed?

Mr T is a Christian. He has a really dope background and story as well as intellect as so much thought went into everything. Not to mention he was one of the few non white people on the screens back in the day that didn't take any ish and crossed over without tap dancing.

The realest. Shows you the power of role models and their influence when you contrast that with strung out self snitching junkies etc etc...

He is Christian and loves his mother

I don't compete. If he's a man of God, that's awesome.

To the other note, I wonder if there's anyone out right now even comparable to this level of positivity that's also a black man.

"While bouncing, T would collect all the gold chains clubbers left behind, and insists he’d have returned them if any of their previous owners came forward. But Mr T fans might have noticed that in recent years, he stopped wearing gold chains altogether.

According to VT, there’s a moving story behind both Mr T’s decision to stop wearing his chains and to start wearing them in the first place.
The outlet notes that Mr T confirmed in his biography that he’d been inspired to start wearing all the gold necklaces he found at venues by his African ancestors.

Mr T wrote: “The reason why I wear gold - I wear gold for three reasons. One, when Jesus was born, three wise men came from the east: one brought frankincense, one brought myrrh, the other one brought gold.

“The second reason I wear gold is I can afford it. The third reason I wear it, it's symbolic of my African heritage.

“When my ancestors came from Africa, they were shackled by our neck, our wrists, and our ankles in steel chains. I've turned those steel chains into gold to symbolise the fact that I'm still a slave, only my price tag is higher.”"

A very, very interesting cat, for real, as he was dropping gems on the low all the way through his time in the spotlight but it flew over most peoples heads until he broke it down for them. Not mention he was bout it bout it for real.

I don't compete. If he's a man of God, that's awesome.

And yet you did but flip flopped when checked. Come on man, at least be honest and stand on what you said because you can't go from the warm fuzzy glow that comes from "I have something in common with Mr T, yippee!" to backtracking and editing your talking point when you are the one who mentioned it so it must have some importance.

Like I said, a load of Muslims do this. I had one bending facts and stretching the truth in ways incredulous to try and convince me that Mr Hennessy and Enemies was one and in the next breath he'd offer that MJ converted just before his death and his new name was Mikaeel or something else.

He had good messages, but don’t forget the children of the Mr. T generation are the parents of the little terrorists we have today. However, social media made society much worse, because some of those kids are acting like that in hopes to go viral.

Maybe it's time for the cycle to come back around. :yeshrug:

Yeah, maybe because for sure there is resonance but its interesting you used exactly the same shift and tactics as they did back when which is what got my attention. Check:

Kufi 1: "See, thats MJ, singing about Islam"
Kufi 2: "Word, word. Told you he converted"
Me: "Bruv, you should go get your ears checked if you think thats him".
Kufi 1: "What about 2Pac? He was, for sure. You should join us. We're on our Deen. Yippee!"
Kufi 2: "Word, word. Told you he converted. God is great!"
Me: "So the dude who drank like a fish, fornicated like crazy and had a cross on his back with a blunt in his lips and a Jesus fixation is a Muslim now?"
Kufi 1: "Yeah, look at his name, the things he said. He wouldn't play a fake Muslim on screen because he was a real one in life but on the quiet because of hollywood and all this. I know I made the right decision. Why don't you want to be saved?"

Considering these two were stick up kids and brick flippers who would gladly get ignorant at a moments notice a few months ago I wasn't buying it but for sure your comment did remind me of then as they'd gladly skipped anything that contradicted their investment as their desire to leave the past behind was intense and religion offered them a new framework to rebuild their image.

That is always a good thing but that dishonesty and trickery I can't vibe with or the whole "One of us" thing because I take people as they are and prefer it when they are what they say all the way through and not just sliding into a new skin to feel better about themselves and all the ill things they did.

Couldn't you just enjoy the shining example of Mr T as he is without shoehorning your faith into it? A real cool cat. His interviews are laced with gems.

Considering this is a Muslim majority forum, I didn't realize it was shoehorning. That part was also an afterthought tbh. :yeshrug:

My point is about his influence and you focused on the religion. That's you and your lens and you ain't finna put it on me. I said what I said, as I said and meant it.

With that said, I'd love to see someone or a group of artists carry on this type of message, especially with compensation and popularity.

Thats what I'm saying. What difference would it make if he was a Muslim? Or Christian? Or had no faith so to speak and just did good deeds on his own two? It baffles me how people can wish to live the "content of his character, not the color of his skin" life on one hand but flip the exact same thinking in ways more subtle and pernicious instead of just appreciating the greatness without strings.

Know thyself, my friend. I just helped you out if you get my meaning.

Anyway, you either see it or you don't because this is the second time you've said "a Muslim majority forum" as a way of describing this place so its quite probable you're trolling.
