blowout comb was a very risque album to put out right after reachin'. digable planets could've easily just said "fukk it, let's just put out another rebirth of slick" and cash in and try to get another grammy. but they did the complete opposite

they had to try to appeal to the fanbase they alienated by completely biting qtip on the entire rebirth of slick.
completely stealing the draw of tribe and getting a grammy for it on some impressionist shyt.

only good that came out of it, was the undercurrent of media writers.
who were tribe enthusiast.
made it so, eventually tribe posted sales comparable to their talent in that era on midnight marauders.

to this day, I can't stand digable planets outside of lady bug as eyecandy.

I still enjoy the memory of juice and common serving doodle bug at the elbo room in 1996.
when, doodle bug was disrespectful to the city and the crowd.
