Well the shooting has been improved on current gen versions through a patch that added deadzone and acceleration. There's shooting mods that improve gunplay further though..

I played through the story with a controller. but online I'm using mouse/kb. one frustration I had with the controller was shooting out of cars, and it's way easier with mouse/kb
