Steve McQueen is someone who without a doubt exemplifies black excellence.

First black director to win an Academy Award for Best Picture.
Won the Caméra d'Or, BAFTA and a Golden Globe.

Plus he speaks that real shyt.
I'm always astonished by American filmmakers, particularly living in certain areas, when they never cast one black person, or have never put them in a lead in the movie. I'm astonished. It's shameful. How do you live in New York and not cast a black actor or a Latino actor? It's shameful. It's unbelievable.

Great director. I was first introduced to him via a movie he directed about the hunger strike in ireland. I forget the name...it was seriously just amazing....really had scenes that stuck with me. I would personally like to see more directors like him come out of the woodwork. honestly.
