Steve McQueen is someone who without a doubt exemplifies black excellence.

First black director to win an Academy Award for Best Picture.
Won the Caméra d'Or, BAFTA and a Golden Globe.

Plus he speaks that real shyt.

I knew that was coming, I said this a while back. Why hasn't this gotten the attention it deserves?....I don't know cause that's f8Cking huge right there.

I swear when I first heard the director for "12 Years a Slave" was named "Steve McQueen" I immediately pictured this dude directing a slave movie.

Out here in my damn drawls
This.

Wow.

Great director. I was first introduced to him via a movie he directed about the hunger strike in ireland. I forget the name...it was seriously just amazing....really had scenes that stuck with me. I would personally like to see more directors like him come out of the woodwork. honestly.

You're talking about Hunger

Great film also
