Does fear lie as the secret foundations of most peoples religious belief?

Methinks its does, if you really get down to it and are totally honest with yourself. Most ain't ready to take it there and will dance around the subject or dismiss it out of hand without introspection (which is telling in itself). What would happen to the faithful if they became fearless?

Would they gain a whole new spiritual perspective as a side effect of this gift? How would they then maneuver in this realm? Would this allow them to forge a deeper, more visceral connection with the unfinite vs clinging to a second hand text that tells the tale of someone who did in exchange for getting what was promised upon death?

These are the things I'm wondering. What do you think? Do you think? Ever?

Im actually glad people admit it because that at least means they see it within. First step to mastering it is accepting it.

Many peoples lives are filled with coping mechanisms and distractions to hide this fact from their consciousness which is why they twist, sip, pop a pill and nail anything that moves to relieve the immense amounts of tension buzzing through their systems. Thats fear. It can motivate in many ways and its modes of expression are very, shall we say, artistic when it comes to playing its tricks upon the marks consciousness.

Like I said about religion in the post previous - If you put this to the devout, as is, there will be all kinds of gnashing and wailing about how good god is and all he's done for them etc... but once you strip it all away then its obvious its all about escaping the hellfire the same savior promised to those who dont buy in to what hes selling. Ain't that something?

A bridge too far for many to even think about stepping. Why? Fear strikes again...
