everyone doesn't need to rich, but making it in modern society isn't too difficult. there's enough resources for everyone. under capitalism allocating those resources, even bare the minimum in some cases, doesn't happen.

The key word is anybody, not everybody. Anybody who is worthy, that is.

Those that deny that the "American Dream" still exists imply that people who would normally - or in times past - "make it", now simply can't. Which is patently wrong, if we're talking about America. If you have running water and electricity, you can make it, provided you have what it takes internally.
