:manny:

everybody has been pondering and debating as to why black soul artists and music in general and getting the spotlight it use to have..

and that my friend is the reason..

Chuck D. said it years ago at a speech at a HBCU event I attended..and it holds true to this day..

Black folks are articifcial as fukk today...

we so gottdamn trying to assimilate into a society that don't care for us it's pathetic

a lot of black women can't or choose not to cook...

a lot of black kids aren't even going outside to play sports...or socialize..just on video games

a lot of blackmen have become "social media" divas on facebook and instagram

most of the youth are into EDM beats...

or on all types of designer synthetic drugs and shyt...

most of the "sistas" are into women...and alternative lifestyles...

hell I even met a "sista" who said she doesn't believe in "spanking" ...
:russ:

WE ARE NOT WHO WE USE TO BE or CLAIM TO BE...

When the last time u heard a hot r&b single ON THE RADIO by a black artist ...about LOVE

Their are plenty of GREAT R&B songs about LOVE...but they get pushed to the ADULT URBAN CONTEMPORY FORMAT WHICH IS FOR THE :flabbynsick:

music souldchild, tyrese, raheem devaughn and Anthony Hamilton consistently make GREAT LOVE SONGS..but you wont hear them on Power 105 or HOT 97

Young folk ain't trying to hear that shyt...the women don't wanna be SERENADED too...I notice time the music gets a little slower tempo they get bored...

most of these young girls listen to TRAP MUSIC ......

my fukking niece named her new dog .... "Thugga" ............. :dead:

it's a shame cause I remember it was young black women whom kept r&b singers eating ......

these HOES TOO HARD ................ :noah:

Thats sounds cool and all but there is something else missing. That Prince interview that was deleted by Ebony pointed out something that we overlook. The Black bands...Where are they? The popularity of playing instruments in R&B left in the 90's with Tony, Toni, Tone and Mint Condition. Puffy and R Kelly changed the way R&B was produced for mass consumption and here we are. D'Angelo put out a dope album where he played all the instruments and it didnt really gain the kind of popularity with the current crowd like Chris Brown and Omarians song about eating groceries. Beats made on machines kinda killed R&B as well. Especially when a lot of the current R&B is mixed with a Hip Hop approach. Yes I know Marvin Gayes song Sexual Healing was synth but Marvin didnt solely depend on synth in his music, he his catalogue involved bands playing instruments.

Well he wasn't lying :yeshrug:

I personally think its too late for us as a people, there would have to be some major shift in the social and political to shift us towards where we should be. But that aint going to happen, we are far down that rabbit hole. All i can say is each one teach one:francis:
