Of course the ATL
2018 was lit af brehs :whew:

Ronald Acuna Jr :banderas: National League Rookie of the Year

Manager Brian Snitker: NL Manager of the Year

The emergence of Acuna & Ozzie, a ton of pitching depth and even a division title postseason appearance:blessed:

Fast forward to 2019, we bring in FA 3B Josh Donaldson (twitter @bringerofrain20, hence the title). If Josh is completely healthy from his calf injury (the Braves have brought him along slowly this spring) he could be the bat that puts us over the top. He's our biggest FA signing at 1 yr & 23 million and one of our major keys to the season

The other major discussions have been who will be the #5 starter (Touki, Soroka, Kyle Wright), but that will sort itself out. Hopefully we bring Kimbrel byke :ohlawd:

Projected lineup of:

CF Ender
3B Josh
1B Freddie
LF Acuna
RF Markakis
2B Ozzie
C Flowers
SS Dansby

Starting pitchers

Folty
Gausman
Newcomb
Teheran
Touki/Soroka/Wright

What y'all thinkin Braves brehs? Are we really back?!? :gladbron:

From Forbes.com

Now that the Baby Braves have a full year of experience, National League manager of the year Brian Snitker hopes to retain his surprise NL East title in a much-more-competitive race. The team added veterans Josh Donaldson and Brian McCann to a balanced lineup that could have a trio of hitters (Freddie Freeman, NL Rookie of the Year Ronald Acuna, Jr., and Donaldson) chasing 40 home runs. Hometown favorite Nick Markakis, one of four Braves All-Stars last year, returns after a second-half fade that also hampered Ozzie Albies. The health of Dansby Swanson and readiness of several young arms are also key factors this season.

If he’s healthy, Donaldson fits nicely between Freeman and Markakis, two lefthanded hitters, in a potent lineup. But he’ll also bump incumbent third baseman Johan Camargo into a super-utility role and force the Braves to keep blue-chip rookie slugger Austin Riley on ice. Camargo could wind up at short, where Swanson seeks to prove his thumb sound after surgery that kept him sidelined for the NLDS. If he can put two good halves together, Albies is a Jose Altuve type who adds power plus speed, while Freeman is a perennial MVP contender. Should Acuna add a Gold Glove to his growing hardware collection, the Braves would have an all-Gold alignment of Acuna, Ender Inciarte, and Markakis from left to right. McCann, back after beginning his career at home in Atlanta, forms a decent left-right catching platoon with holdover Tyler Flowers.

Youth will be served on the pitching staff, where Mike Foltynewicz finally found his potential last summer. Kevin Gausman, who did well after a July trade from Baltimore, will also start, with southpaw Sean Newcomb the favorite for the third rotation spot. With Anibal Sanchez signed by Washington, possibilities in Atlanta range from erstwhile ace Julio Teheran, who has started five Atlanta openers, to youngsters Ian Anderson, Max Fried, Mike Soroka, Touki Touissaint, Bryce Wilson, and Kyle Wright — all rated so highly that the Braves refused to include any of them in winter trade talks. The Braves were the only team in the majors that got wins from three 20-year-olds last year.

Best bets for the bullpen are lefty A.J. Minter, coming off a solid rookie season, and holdover Aroldys Vizcaino, who battled shoulder issues in 2018. Flame-thrower Chad Sobotka showed promise in September.

I'm taking a wait and see approach this year. Much different when you have expectations. The rest of the division has improved as well. I honestly think they over achieved last year. Team still needs a true ace of the staff.
With that being said, GO BRAVES! #ChopOn

We got the Cubs in the opener on ESPN too.I hope folks show up.

Breh attendance was up at SunTrust double digits last yr. The team is coming off a division title with a ton of young talent...plus it's in The Battery. Do you really think people wouldn't show up for the opener against the Cubs? :dwillhuh:

I think we've got better pitching depth than WAS
Better defensively than Philly
And a better organization than New York

Even with Acuna & Ozzie breaking in the last year we still have the #2 farm system in the game

3B Austin Riley will be here either as a 1B or outfield
Camargo is on the bench (and he could legit start)
Brian McCann is back

We've got better depth this yr than we had a yr ago as well

This season will either be really good or really frustrating due to how young our pitching staff is. The good part about it is that either way we'll know exactly what we're set up with going into 2020 and beyond. We just have to be patient. With that being said....

Pache killing it so far this spring. Y’all think there’s a shot he comes up this year? Or do we wait until next year, when he could play everyday
He looking like Juña Jr. out there
Only way I see him coming up is if he's going ballistic and we're out of it pretty early. If Mark Akis is struggling but we're competitive then I think they hit the trade market first.
