:gladbron:Yes! My hosting job back in 2014. I got an email telling me I wasnt needed that Saturday and to enjoy my weekend. Got an email monday asking me to come in Tuesday. Greeted by this bubbly redhead who wasnt working there a week prior and none of the staff would look at me.

I said to my mom that Saturday "I think im about to be fired."
Sure enough, canned me. It hit me hard for a bit cause I loved the job. My mom says they were on that:mjpls:

But I dunno. If the other black hosts were axed as well(all three black employees worked the front), then it would make total sense. I miss that job to this day.

Yeah, I'll elaborate. Work hard AF doing something you actually want to do and put as much time, money, and whatever into that possible so it actually takes off and you can live off of doing something you actually love doing as supposed to something you hate doing just to pay the bills and keep the lights on.

That's why I just have been going hard AF with music as of late. Thank god I ain't doing rap. There are too many black men doing rap. Being a black man doing EDM now I stand out more and get more attention. That's leading to gigs...which pay alot more then what I would be doing doing the 9-5 thing.

I'd rather make $500-$2500 playing music for 2 hours then not even making that in a week/month at some fukking bullshyt 9-5. Plus I feel like I'm making a profound cultural impact by using my gaining position to address issues of diversity & race in the entertainment/music industry...especially in these scenes dominated by whites.

Once you make a name for yourself and get bigger bookings and gigs you can use that as leverage and command upfront booking prices of $5000-$10,000 per show...or more. My dream is to get to $25,000 fee for a show.

I've received some great co-signs too....I don't care too elaborate too much, but there's a reason I had to cool off on my old posting habits as of late on here. I don't want to lose money by having to answer to tweets or internet posts I made in the past that others may be seeing as hateful, homophobic, racist, sexist, misogynistic, etc...by people who will use those against m.

smart man. also, i see a lot people on here with many many thousands of posts over a short period of time. that's just unecessary squandering of valuable resource (time). that is very counter productive.

all that time spent typing up crap can can be devoted to a worthy cause, one with possible return on ur time investment.

but yeah, i applaud anyone that can break off the shackles of 9 to 5. its no way to live life man knowing if u have a family, ur only a call away from being on ur ass with no way to provide for them, and being embarrassed to even tell ur wife.
