i’m reading this book called ‘crisis of the negro intellectual,” a collection of essays written in the 40s by a black activist named Harold Kruse. much like dubois’ ‘the souls of black folk,’ it surveys the socioeconomic terrain of black america, inspecting and commenting on our status in america, ultimately casting doubt on the integrity of black leadership. what’s most fascinating and depressing is just how relevant these words are to our current time, the substance of his words hardly requiring a single change to be understood as an indictment of the black bootlicking class in 2023.

If you really think nothing has changed in the black community for the good since that book was written YOU ARE LOST.

the book, as the title implies, is more of a critique aimed at the black leadership class, in all spheres of black society - political, academic, and entertainment.

i would suggest you read it to understand why it resonated as much as it did. the difference between the two systems is negligible, divided more by degree than type.
