I did this maybe 3/4 years ago. I was waiting to start a new gig, but onboarding took 4/5 months. My girl at the time never caught me but I’m sure she knew something was up because I would beat her home from work some days and she would be like “wyd here so early” lol

I've heard stories of this happening during the recession.

White men from wealthy commuter towns, who lost their jobs, getting up every day, taking the train into the city like they were going to work. Only to be on some Ferris Bueller type shyt to pass the time. I believe I heard that the stress was so bad of losing their job and trying to keep up appearances, a few committed suicide.

Its very sad, but also interesting, when you hear of things like this. People are so identified with the image they forget they aren't it. Thats a pretty wild statement if you think about it as it states the obvious but its amazing how many folk miss this.

There was a study done on people who worked in top flight blue chips and thus had the best health care etc... most of them died very soon after retirement (in comparison to other fields) as they no longer had the prestige associated with be linked to the firm and thus lost the will to live. That is even wilder, if you think about the implications therein.
