Man I was going through my library and I think Nas has the most songs that make me say to myself "How the hell did he ever get away with releasing that". Ice Cube may be the only other guy I'd put in that conversation as far as living mainstream acts go, only difference is alot of his joints came out in the early 90's, these below are all like '99 to present day. Imagine a rapper today talking about killing the president :heh:

-This whole song

-What Goes Around

"George Bush killa till George Bush kills me" :OOOO:

-A Message to the Feds

"Man makes rules and laws. You just a ruthless dog, your kennel is waiting. You devils will run back into the caves you came from" :merchant:

-The entire Untitled project, including the songs that weren't on the official album

-White Man's Paper :troll:

This is just off the top of my head I'm sure ya'll could name more songs/lines. If Nas was 15 years younger and these songs were coming out today he'd have some FBI agent sitting at his cubicle, chewing on his pencil eraser with intents to erase him :wow:

Also, the "Hate me Now" video was pretty racy as well.

Rappers have called white people "crackas" in their music several times over the years. On LPs too.

I also wonder how 2pac's 7 Day Theory album got a pass, especially with songs titled "White mans world" on the album.

Also that Kidnap line on What's Beef...

"What Goes Around" seems like the one he would've caught the most flack for b/c it came like right after 9/11. It was initially supposed to be the first single from Stillmatic.

The funny thing about entertaniment in general is that there's more sexually overt stuff in TV/music, more curse words allowed on TV/radio nowadays......but in the past, you could use the word "******" or "wetback", or "cracker or honky" on regular network TV. You could say derogatory things about gays, etc.

It's like alot more stuff was allowed back then than now, but alot more is allowed now than back then. :mindblown:

i don't think nas sells enough records to be a threat to "the man".

2pac was going quintuple/sextuple platinum.. if kanye made these songs you'd have a thread my dudey

The better question would be how he got away with making so many below average wack songs on beats which are usually used by F grade rappers. :mjpls:

:deadmanny:

That track was vicious though, "eat these bullets" - Nas whole verse was :gladbron:

"I don't kill nikkas no more, now I kill crackers
Strong as Warren Sapp and long as a giraffe is
F-150's & F-250's, Governor, order me about two Bentleys
From Rip Kaplan, I don't fukk with Aspen's
Too black for that, too tough for Hampton's
Rock Hermes, turn heads
Puff with Rasta hoes and skeet sperm in their dreads
Body whoever leak words to the Feds
My camaraderie from the streets will murder you dead
Flee NYC when it's freezing
To MIA, get this shyt
My diamonds come with GIA certificates
Y'all stones is clones, I'm full grown
Hoes call my name on bullhorns
In the middle of an NBA playoff
Whatever nikka, we can face off
Wet a nikka with the AK or--
Oops, I mean kill a cracker
The truth, I'm the realest rapper

Bravehearts running this shyt
God's Son, Governor, LES, Jungle and Wiz"

When Nas gets on his ignorant shyt grizzly :wow:

i've never listened to Nas ever and thought "my god, how is this happening?"

not when even when he waved automatic guns at nuns. when you're smooth, like he is, people get enchanted.
