so i took my winter ride into the mechanic today to get a tune up since i am going to be driving this for the winter months.

i drove it all last week but something didn't feel right. the mechanic called me today and said i've been driving without brakes i thought he was crazy but then i remembered how last night i almost struck a pedestrian at the cross walk. at the time, i though it was becuase i was high. but now it makes sense, i was driving around the last week without any brakes

He prolly meant you didn't have brake pads which is possible if you let them wear out to the metal but eventually your caliper would freeze/tear/lock up because its hitting the rotor.

I've had brakes go out on me twice, once was at a road track and other was in traffic. One car was an auto, the other was manual, in both situations I used the e-brake and put the car into the lowest gear.

You could pay $20-40 for a set of decent brake pads now or $140+ for pads and rotors later breh.

Just sayin, you have a corolla and those shyts are built to last if you take care of it.
