I made the quote below in another thread but i think it helps illustrate my points. A true wrestler in them days is a deep man i mean they are tough guys they really go out there and could easily die in the ring and lets be real most of them you would not one to square up with. So its clear they are barbarians and not just by their looks and walks its the way they showed you their dominace on this earth through words.
Harley Race would get straight to the point you wont survive, Dusty would lethal swag you where you believed you wont survive, Macho barely even talked about you but you believed in forth coming punishment, road warriors would promise you death, ted dibiase would literally laugh in your face letting you know you aint shyt, warrior would let you know its strictly all about danger, etc, etc, so many master craftsmen that understood the true art of getting that ticket sold.
people praise paul heyman his boring as hell tells you whats happening no thrills no where close to poeticness of heenan or how cornette would shyt talk because he had big guys with him. I dont get what you guys are so impressed by cm punk pipe bomb that was barely a bomb it was not captivating just talking but at least cm is alright most these guys are wanna be rock replicas. the top guy now promo wise i hear is bray whyatt but a little more savagery less riddles ala a true jake roberts.

I see a lot of people put rock i like rock if you are a true wrestling fan its impossible not to like the rock. i will say this though because people are shytting on his in-ring work when i prefer that to his promos. the rock starteda lot of a few signature moves that a wrestler uses now not just his finishers sure dusty rhodes had a couple too but rock not just had the peoples elbow (that cena, kofi, etc copied ) as well as rock bottom but he has the way he sells and when his laying punches to comically spit in his hand at the last blow.
he was a good promo even great but his influence is one of the number reasons i dont watch this shyt no more everyone wants to be a stand up comedian. a pro wrestler is supposed to shyt on you let you know why you are gonna get your ass beat by a superior man ala flair,macho,jake,harley race, austin etc.
today you got miz and ziggler and whoever just tryna come up with catch phrases and jokes i dont even care in fact randy orton promos >>> most these guys because and least its barbarical the way he dont care and keeps it simple like he out for damage. anyway rock one of the best for sure but i just hope the wwe gets out of copying his cartoon aspects of his skills.
