Pros
TRUST THE PROCESS! — Is it hard here? Yup. Is it stressful here? Sure is. Does this place force you into discomfort and push you to rise up from the ashes? Yes it does. Notice I put this in the Pros category. There are folks who thrive in the above mentioned environment and we seeks to find and foster those talents. These people are not your regular folks. The team here is super ambitious in their professional AND personal lives: almost everyone exercises daily, tries to eat healthily and work on their relationships and mental health. I’m sure we’re what average people call “insane” or “crazy” or “doing too much”. And we’re okay and proud of it. The people, the culture, the work ethic, the skill sets everyone here possesses are undeniable. Having joined in 2014 then again now in 2021, I’ve personally seen this company grow from 4 people to now over 60, and am quite humbled to be here again. It is not your typical startup, which is why it is a lot more successful than most startups. There are no excuses and no exceptions here. Either you decide to sign up and commit to doing the work, or you become lazy and haphazard and fall out quickly.
Cons
Nothing worth having comes easily. You don’t get the 6-pack by complaining and not following the workout and diet regiment. You don’t win awards by being average and staying complacent. You don’t grow unless you’re pushed and challenged often. If you wanna coast at a job, this ain’t it. Let me warn you now. Look elsewhere- no hard feelings. Lastly, there are some departments that are inherently harder than others. Of course marketing and sales will have different goals than the CSM team, etc. Make sure you set goals to challenge yourself realistically.
Advice to Management
Keep climbing!! I’ve seen tremendous changes from top down. Continue to listen to your employees. You can’t please everyone so ignore the naysayers and keep staying true."
