Its about your brain processing things, and in shooting games you are forced to make a ton of decisions on the fly
That takes some intelligence, especially if you playing at a high level
It takes concentration and strategy all at the same time.

Managing a club in FIFA, is there a timer going down with an AK in your face?
Are you in an elevator dodging blows from Solange while you try to make roster decisions?

Sports games have some of the most complex controls in gaming, period. The precision that manual controls require and the timing needing to be success is pretty crazy. And I say this with over 30 hours logged in BF4 alone.
