I think it has to do with wanting to keep their culture/identity. Race mixing is why alot of culture and history is lost from Africans worldwide. When you look at history, the same story pans out... original people African/black mix with something, black becomes minority, African/black culture becomes mixed/quadroons identity, African origins slowly forgotten, mixed people claim to be indigineous, African/black descendants catching their ass to prove their existance in this historical time
