Most speeding tickets probably aren’t from people driving over 100mph

My guess is that most speeding tickets inside cities and counties are for people driving 10-15mph over the limit in 35-55mph areas.

Why do y'all put all speeders in one group? On my way to Iowa, the roads was empty. Had a 4 hour trip, but did 100 all the way cut the time down to 3.

I'm not sure where y'all live where its dangerous young 20s something speeding zooming in and out of traffic, but I hardly see that. And FYI, you don't have to do 100. Even 85mph is dangerous when traffic going 65.

Of course I know speeding period is dangerous… everybody knows that…I’m , like everybody else just focusing on if you go 100, there is never a good reason.. Bro I live in the city. Atlanta. Having driven extensively the only thing that stops me from driving speeding, other than being black and having a gun in my car is 1. Terrible drivers, 2. Terrible roads.

People do dumb shyt like brake checking, and pulling into your lane and slowing down, like they're going to teach you a lesson when you slam into their car and hurt them.

But more and more I can't tell you how often I've seen rocks, concrete, pieces of metal, potholes, cracks, uneven roads...I really want to say "I can remember a time when roads were well maintained!" But I was probably just too young and ignorant to notice the details. Roadwork is so fukking shabby nowadays. And it seems like there's always shyt in the road, on the highway, interstate.

I also don't get this notion where people think "if there's an emergency, I'm just gonna speed there!"

You might successfully speeded to work when you were running late, to made it to the movies in the knick of time. But if you really think because your wife/girlfriend is having a baby especially if she's in the backseat, or you get a call that your mom or kid is in the hospital and you're just going to run stop signs, blow through red lights, drive around people, enter on the wrong side of the road....that's cool....we will either see you in court or your picture on the news with people explaining why you died.

I know a dude that got arrested trying to run from the police in a car that had a speed limiter on it. Hearing him tell the story had me howling when he describes how he’d floor it only to get some good speed and have the car go straight down to 65 over and over again.

For people with a brain, it should always come down to context. There's some places like hundreds of miles on interstate 20 through texas, new Mexico, arizona where its just a straight highway and no traffic for hours where there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do 100 if you can handle it
