Jordan finally beating the Pistons after years of failure. Spearheading a championship run after years and years of people saying he was just a scorer. Leaving the game at his peak, returning after a year and a half hiatus, older, less athletic... and yet ANOTHER 3 peat.

Drafted to a bottom feeding franchise and transformed them into a DYNASTY thorough years of building.

That's Bird and Jordan now. Need I continue?

:ohhh: So you are saying he should have created a time machine and gone back in time and brought McHale, Parrish, DJ or Pippen and Grant back with him? :heh: It's not like Bird and Jordan, as great as they were did that alone.

The fact that you bring up Horace Grant in this discussion as if he were some type of great player among the likes of Pippen and McHale tells me all I need to know.

They were great players that were fortunate enough to build good teams while they were there. LeBron had a good team too that was maybe one piece away from seriously contending but he bounced to go play for the eastern conference all stars.

Their passing highlights have the same type of passes, kind of crazy really -

Both can clearly see the play in their heads long before it happens.

Too close to call, but Bron has more flare, though.

Maybe he edges Bird out in style points:yeshrug:

1st bolded: That's valid but how many members of those Cavs teams not named Bron would you take over him?

2nd bolded: That's the key word. They didn't overcome shyt. They were fortunate to have the right teammates delivered to them. Bron had to find his on his own.

Rodman and Oakley were better defenders than Grant, IMO, but Horace was a great defender as well.

:mjlol: Bird was a killer,a finisher,a big shot hitter with a complete offensive arsenal. Lebron offensive game is not equals to birds.

Lebron is more athletic which leads to him being a better defender. That's the only thing I would give him over bird.

I get what you're saying but hear me out. Their offensive game isn't equal, their impact on offense is just about equal. When I say "impact" i mean Bron may not be able to hit 3s all day like Bird, but Bron will drive, force the help and find a higher percentage 3pt shot for his teammates.
Bird may have been a better free throw shooter than Bron, but Bron is getting to the line more, and getting higher totals while getting the opposition in foul trouble. Bird could balance out the lack of free throw attempts with 3 pointers. So yes their offensive games aren't equal, but their overall impact is very close imo.

Bron is a killer, finisher, and big shot hitter too. Not at the level as Bird... yet... He's consistently shown over the past 2 years, and even as a youngster in Cleveland, that he could will his team to crucial playoff wins, hit game winners, and make big defensive plays when it counts.

You are right about Bron being more athletic. That isn't the only factor in being a better defender. His work ethic, high basketball iq, studying of the game, along with his natural athletic gifts lead him to being a better defender. There are other great athletes (ex. Jr Smith) in the NBA that don't have the other necessary attributes to become an elite defender..

Are you stupid? You think the Cavs were a piece away from beating a team like the Spurs, Lakers, or celtics? They had 7 years to build around him and his best players were the likes of Ancient Shaq, Big Z, Mo Williams, and the like. Lol at any of those Cavs being a good team.

Literally drafted Waiters and Bennett yet you have faith in their ability to get Lebron a piece?

He was destined to be KG in Cleveland.

No one wanted to go to Cleveland because for years no one was certain whether or not Lebron would resign. For years that's all anyone ever talked about.

I bet you if Lebron had put those rumors to rest in the years leading up then they could have snagged one of those free agents in the summer of 2010. Lots of guys were available that summer. Bosh, Boozer, Amare, David Lee... any one of those guys could have put Cleveland over the top.

Asked Bosh, Bosh didn't want to play in Cleveland.

Dude, no one wants to play for Cleveland. It's a crappily run organization in a wack town. And injured Amare? Boozer? David Lee?

Oh god...no. Why would Lebron bet more years in a horrible organization on the off-chance that someone might wanna play in Fukkin Cleveland for an awful coach?
