youre right they should have fouled way before that. twice siakam 73% ft shooter, worse than all the knicks starters had the ball in the front court not even looking up the rim. knicks were first up 9 with less than a minute left, then up 8 with less than 40 seconds left. those should have been immediate fouls.
i focus less on 3pts being erased in 14 seconds and more on 7pts being erased in 29 seconds and 6pts being erased in 12 seconds. they were up 121-112 with 58 seconds left and up 123-115 with 41 seconds left then found themselves only up 123-121 with 22 seconds left after nesmith's 3rd 3pt shot in a row. sure their defense was a problem leading to those threes, but if they start fouling indiana they likely never even have a shot to tie or win the game late.

Knicks problem was they're own players bricked too many fts not only within the last couple mins of the game but the entire game in general...missed fts will kill you in these games.

I understand it in most situations. Most teams do it way too early. 15 seconds left, play it out. 5 seconds left, yeah go ahead and foul. It's even better if the other team has no timeouts left.
