Actually I'm curious about the procedure here, like how does it work being a bus driver in this situation? Does he get punished for letting the kid just ride without paying? Or does he get punished less severily if he doesn't allow a non-paying costumer to get a ride? It's clear that he was doing too much but what were his viable options in a situation like this?

Excluding the option that he pays for the kid's fare himself that is.

pretty much. a bus driver told me that the job fukks with you because you literally see the same people on the same route back and forth everyday for years, it breaks some drivers down.

In training, when a farebeater gets on there told to state the fare, press the farebeater button on the farebox and just let them ride the issue is a lot of these bus drivers have HUGE egos.

I'm not sure about every city, but i know in my city if you're underage the bus driver has to let you on for free. You just say that you're trying to get home and there really isn't shyt he can do. dikkhead bus drivers will hold up the route and threaten to call the cops but they really have no course of action. If you're a minor? Then you're getting a ride. Which is probably why the bus driver never actually called the cops cuz he knew he was wrong already.
