Honestly the Bucks are the smartest businessmen in the biz since Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. They understand that this is a job and as long as they dont become marks for themselves theyll make money as long as they want to
yeah they laid the blueprint for independence in wrestling.

not signing to record labels is the new wave in 2017.

i can see why people sign to the wwe though. the ceiling for money is wwe main eventer.

Off the dome all the UK guys they signed that are gonna be making $15k a year are marks
i actually think the UK guys signed a great deal. they get a base salary and get exposure from wwe which raises their indy booking price (they're still allowed to work indies).

Think how long AJ Styles was on TNA tv being great before his value shot up with bullet club in his year with NJPW? Kenny Omega 2018 offer from WWE would probably break the coli if that came out.
You know there's something wrong when I'm agreeing with this guy but there isn't a ceiling in the indies. Once these guys start eating on that international level WWE pretty much has to sign them at that point. I'm pretty sure AJ came in making seven figures and negotiated winning the title in the deal. Guys like Balor and Nakamura definitely came in hitting north of 500k.

Ryback breaks it down on his podcast sometimes. Any wrestler that's famous enough to headline indie shows and attract a casual audience is making 2-10k a night. These guys are made men once they get to a certain point.

On the one hand, I agree with the Bucks that you gotta invest in yourself and know your worth. They and Kenny Omega are looking at making mad money whenever they decide to make that jump and could very well bypass NXT. They clearly know their worth and have a vision for where they want their career to go.

At the same token, not everyone is going to be able to do that. You gotta remember that for every Cody Rhodes, there's a Damien Sandow who wasn't gonna be shyt in the E and wasn't shyt when he left. What they see as people just being marks for WWE could also be those people looking at the facts and making the right choice for them. Sometimes people just realize they ain't got it like that.

I feel like the Bucks have definitely laid out the blueprint for people who are on their level out on the indies, though. It's not applicable across the board, but if you're popping like they are, then you definitely shouldn't be taking the first deal WWE offers you. It's a business, and you gotta protect yourself.
