A brief (and by no means complete) history of Black Los Angeles. Happy Black History Month!

Wow... I think whoever put this together pulled off the impossible. They have your entire Black L.A. history in one place. No joke. ALL OF IT is in there. from blacks migrating from the south to Cali in general, L.A. specifically. To certain neighborhoods (west adams used to be known as sugar hill-the place with the huuuuge homes). And how they were to some degree dealing with all sorts of cism,. how eventually the black elite moved further west to baldwin hills, leimert park, and ladera areas, japanese camps, mexicans before we got here, when we got here and after, all the way to the bpanthers, black history week turning into a month, the black films/TV, white racist gangs, black gangs made to fight off those racist ones(slausons, business men.....etc.) The original Eastsidaz. lol. all the way to crips, bloods, riots, etc. even spoke on when the ethiopian population blew up in L.A., as well as belizean and others. down to rap, etc, etc(yes they spoke on jazz in the early parts). literally all in one place. i havent even finished it all. With pics, and snippets of movies, etc.

This needs to be done for every major city and for every single state.

The problem when we speak of race relations is that we always point to federal court cases, chicago, the development of Long Island, and Alabama. Attempts such as these force readers to draw real comparisons to their local situations.
