Why is this shocking? Are people this stupid to think employees of the company who's service you use cant access your information. Not only do they have access but they archive and have ownership rights to everything you upload or put on your page forever even if you "delete" your page.
Yep and alot of people dont understand that shyt..I use facebook just to communicate with old high school/college friends, and never put anything private or incriminating up there. Only thing facebook knows about me- my name, where i was born, where I went to school, ip i post from, and thats about it...

I dont post about work, money, going out, nothing to do with my day to day life..

The very people who log onto Facebook everyday blindly.

If this is shocking news to you, no wonder you can't believe people can get off the grid easily. You should look into technology a bit more. Its much easier to do things/hide than you know about. Just like Snowden revealing NSA spy activities, that shyt was well known for decades already.

That's what you think. You don't have to just type stuff into your FB profile for them to know stuff about you.

Only thing i told them was my name, the rest they put together based on my ffriends...
But i'm not sure how much more they could know, unless they have people on the ground tracking me and in that case

Facebook uses cookies from 3rd parties to better deliver ads to you. Those cookies have info that you haven't given to FB. I think thats what he's implying.

Websites you visit, apps you use, the browser you use, facial recognition data and photo metadata, and all the likes you hit and things you mention in your status updates/comments that go towards making up a profile of what they can advertise to you. And so on and so forth.

Yeah.. but I really don't post updates on facebook, if i do its like "wow i love the beach" when all my peoples are in the east coast snow storms :skip:
Like i literally have less than 12 updates a year and they pertain to weather or location, nothing personal. Im sure they know the location of the posts by ip, but im not tripping over that.. i have 2 pictures on my account, i've been doing internet marketing for over 10 years so i know how that woeks, and that runs deeper than facebook...

1. This isn't shocking news
2. People who can get off the grid take steps to do so in many different ways and times...it just doesn't happen.
3. Snowden didn't reveal anything new but he is questionable at best.

Yeah, I have a Facebook account with minimal information.
When they had that special anniversary and everyone had a special movie made about their lives, mine was trash. My friends had long movies that were chronological, e.g. meeting a girlfriend, getting engaged, the wedding, first child... chit like that.
Mine was one f***king image of a stuff animal I uploaded to be my avatar. That was my facebook life movie.
