For extra credit for my Intro to Philosophy class I have to create my own political system and list how/why would this political system be better than Democracy in the U.S. I am stuck and my ideas are cheesy lol.

Any ideas?

I was thinking about this the other day. Like what else is there besides capitalism and communism, I couldn't find anything online about it.

breh people always say gettin everyone to vote on a matter isnt efficient thats why we elect representatives to decide on our behalf, but in this electronic age we got the whole world connected at the click of a button why couldnt we setup a system to vote through technology ? shyt is efficent...just thinkin out loud:smugdraper:

there is no perfect political system. the only thing i would recommend is the agreement that every so often (like after a quantitative analysis or qualitative of the agreed upon system at the time) the system gets a major revamp, like broken down and built up again. of course, that'd be hard as hell to achieve. but really the best system is one that's highly flexible, but i imagine that's even more difficult...

No political system can ever be perfect. There are simply too many differences in opinions, ideas, morals and religion. The closest thing to a political system that can actually have a benefit towards humanity is a system built and run on reforms and changes based on the needs of the people. A system with no change to its workings and policies will only fail. that being said, think about which civilization in the world held the longest most successful run and i think you might find creating a "perfect" political system a little easier.

This is a start and you guys are reading too far into it lol. I know that there is no such thing as a perfect political system. I just need one that is perfect to me. But I am having a hard time to come up with one.

Uncertain grounds
just talk about getting rid of political parties or at least having a 3 party system..and if you wanted to add more onto it than that you can talk about getting rid of the executive branch and just having Congress...

or you can talk about having a philosopher king and use the old greek theories..

just some random ideas, im not sure exactly of the virtues of each one at the moment

Me, as a dictator.

I'd kill off all the fatties and the dumbasses. I'd eliminate welfare for the homeless. I'd stop all the wars we're fighting. I'd have massive government layoffs. Then I'd pour a shyt-ton of resources into developing usable fusion cells, and all those laid-off govt employees would become contractors on a number of nationwide "super-projects". We'd build a new infrastructure to support our upcoming manufacturing surge (fueled by cold fusion).

I'd then give citizens the option of "independent citizenship" in which they'd pay a small nominal percentage of taxes (say, 3% total) but not get to take advantage of any state or federal benefits.

I'd also have a "don't make me come over there" policy for all sessions of Congress.

Plato was always right. While Democracy and a Republic is the ideal type of system, individuals always end up growing tired of opposing views having the ability to influenced the system, and in the end, those individuals would always gravitate towards a dictatorship as long as that person/people think like they do.
